Overnight,
we sailed the whopping 10 miles to the Mexican shore at Playa Del Carmen.
From there, we visited the Mayan ruins at Tulum. Denelle videotaped the
entire lecture from our guide to use in her classroom since she will be
covering Mayan history. Sorry, don't
have an MPEG file of that, but you can still see some pics here.

Next we visited
the private resort Xel Ha (pronounced Shell Ha). There we saw kids swimming
with dolphins. We snorkeled in the bay with tropical fishes (including
a 3 foot yellow snapper).

We returned
to Ft. Lauderdale on July 21st and spent a day getting our land legs back.
We stayed at the Harbor Beach Marriott and walked along the beach, shopped
in their arts district, and were thoroughly entertained at a sing-along
bar called "Howl at the Moon." It rained a bit, but that was
the only percipitation for our whole trip, so we were very fortunate with
the weather.
